Senior Pastor Edward M. Buford, Sr. Th.D has a tremendous passion for God’s word coupled with a love for God’s people. He has a contagious spirit of generosity that flows through every facet of his ministry. Having received his mandate from God, Pastor Buford, obediently fulfills his calling as Senior Pastor of Sonrise Community Church. He provides solid pastoral theology to his staff, as well as strong, sound doctrine and leadership to Sonrise Community Church. He also serves as Director for The Center For Empowerment, a transitional living facility. Pastor Buford and his wife, First Lady Bobbi Buford, are an anointed duo that God is using to make a change in the lives of people. .

Jennifer proves the old adage "The best man for the job is a woman"! She has many roles within the SonRise Community. Her work with children, abused adults, and our local community has been a blessing to all. Her duties include keeping up with Doctor Buford.
Ms.Hathorne worked with the Texas Employment Commision for 15 years as a Staffing Cordinator before coming to work with us.
She has several Degrees in Business including: Bachelor of Business Administration from McNeese State University, Bachelor of Business Managment from Louisiana State University,Associates Degree in Business from Delta School Business and a Certificate of Business Administration from Delta School Business
